For the New York City Environmental Protection Administration we did a number of projects. As you well know, municipal literature is usually very dull and hard to read, with text set in endless unbroken blocks of Helvetica.

So we illustrated the decibels on the left side of every spread. And used humor here and there. Illustrators who contributed their talent and genius pro bono included Seymour Chwast of Push Pin (shown), Simms Taback, Jim Maltese, Barry Zaid, R.O. Blechman, Robert Grossman.
